Smithtown High School West ENL students, Life Skill students, library students aides and students from the Makerspace Club, National Honor Society, the Power of a Pebble Club have banded together to make scarves and hats for people in Ukraine.

Two fo the students are from Ukraine and currently have family members living in the country. Many of the students had never crochet before, but they were motivated to help the family of their friends.
Cathy Masrour, High School West school librarian said, "It is hard to know what to do when we face big world problems. Students sometimes feel overwhelmed and anxious. This crocheting project has been a way for students to quiet the anxiety and worry in their heads, while making a difference."
Other students made cards to send along with these warm gifts from HS West students.
A great gesture!
