SCSD, MOOV App announce partnership

March 13, 2023

It's time to MOOV!

The Smithtown Central School District is proud to announce it's partnership with Smithtown High School West alumnus, Kevin Camson and his exciting new app, MOOV.

MOOV is aimed at revolutionizing how parents and students access school information and is being piloted by the SCSD.

Mr. Camson explains that the app was designed “to increase student engagement and centralize school information, making it social and accessible. It can showcase each school's events and clubs in a more dynamic and lively way on students’ phones.”

For high school parents and students, MOOV allows them to easily find what they need at one location. It also provides live bus tracking, has the capacity to send push notifications for announcements, showcases student clubs and sports teams, broadcasts live sports streams, sends a daily brief notification in the morning (detailing lunch menus, A/B day information, etc.), and much more. At the elementary and middle school levels, MOOV will provide live bus tracking for parents and guardians.

"The District is very excited about our partnership with MOOV and Kevin Camson,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur. “We feel strongly that this tool will help further student engagement with our schools."

Camson best summarized it, "The future is what we make of it.”
