When students at Smithtown Elementary walked into school this week, they were met by some new classmates.
One was a turtle named Crush. Another was Onyx the corn snake.
Oreo the hedgehog was a big hit, as was Cocoa the bunny rabbit.
Turnip the owl was a bit shy but made an appearance.
They all were brought in by Sweetbriar Nature Center to educate our students about the friendly creatures living around us!
The students were able to pet the visitors and learn about their individual habits.
