What makes a great administrator? Administrators who are new to Smithtown or new to their position are finding out, thanks to a new initiative introduced by Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur.
Dr. Secaur has been meeting once a month with principals, assistant principals and other untenured administrators in the district as part of a new program he introduced, titled, the New Administrator Induction Program.
"The idea for this is to have a forum for you to share and learn together," Dr. Secaur told the group.
Several topics were discussed, including communicating effectively with staff and community members, as Dr. Secaur encouraged dialogue and promoted collaboration among administrators.
