Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, baseball legend Jackie Robinson and NASA engineer Katherine Johnson were just some of the individuals fifth graders at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School focused on for their Black History Month projects.
Students in Mrs. Waitz’s fifth grade class celebrated Black History Month by researching, collecting information, and creating a Google Slide that focuses on the contributions of African Americans in the United States.
This project helps the students to learn about and commemorate African Americans from all periods of U.S. history.
