It was a beautiful day for moving up ceremonies throughout the Smithtown Central School District.
At Smithtown Elementary, Principal Janine Lavery gave a heartfelt speech to her departing students, who are gone but never forgotten.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur praised the students and encouraged them to be great learners and citizens as they embark on the next level.
Smithtown BOE members Matt Gribbin and Michael Catalanotto, who both have children in the school, also praised the students, as did PTA President Robin Matejka.
