Fourth graders at Mills Pond Elementary School received a special education on the Lunar New Year from Mills Pond PTA president and parent, Mrs. Wanling Fahrer.
Mrs. Fahrer visited Mrs. McGovern's class and taught the students some Chinese words and phrases as well as Chinese New Year customs and a lion dance video performance! The students also designed their own lucky money for red envelopes. Mrs. Fahrer's visit ended by giving each child a clementine to represent gold and good fortune.
The Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, was this past Sunday, January 22nd.
