Juniors and seniors from High School West leadership visited Mt. Pleasant Elementary School to facilitate a civics-based lesson for Earth Day.
Following their lesson the students did an science based activity to create self watering planters using the concept of capillary action.
For West seniors, they will be receiving credit for their civic capstone project in pursuit of their Seal of Civic Readiness.
More than a billion people participate each year on Earth Day, which is April 22nd.
