It was a special night Wednesday night at High School East as the Science Honor Society induction ceremony occurred.
Smithtown Director of Science Dr. Stephanie O'Brien presented each student with a certificate of honor.
To commemorate the induction, the students used light sticks instead of traditional candles because, well, they love science!
As High School East senior and honoree John Holler explained, the light stick contains two solutions which react when the stick is broken.
