Smithtown High School East's Holy Mary Zaher, who recently was named a Regeneron scholar, was recognized for her achievement at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting.
Introduced by High School East's science research coordinator Maria Zeitlin, Holy Mary discussed her research project titled “The Correlation Between Peroxisome Levels and Short-Term Memory Loss in a PINK1-/- Rat Model of Parkinson's Disease”.
Unfortunately, Holy Mary could not stay the entire night as she had to head home to study for a mid-term on Wednesday!
