DOGGONE IT: HSE Virtual Enterprise firm featured in LI Press

February 5, 2024

The High School East Virtual Enterprise firm, “DogGo” may not be a “real” company, but the coverage of their firm was very real!

DogGo was highlighted in the Long Island Press in an article from the recent trade show competition at LIU.

“It is so wonderful that the Virtual Enterprise Community took the time to acknowledge and give recognition to our firm DogGO for their hard work and dedication,” advisor Stephen Costello exclaimed. “This honor provided such an excitement in the classroom when hearing the news. I am so proud of them, and for everything that they have accomplished so far. This is only the beginning for these bright young entrepreneurs.”

DogGo, with it’s slogan, “Go FURther,” offered dog collars and harnesses with fitness and security features, such as GPS, vitals trackers, and step counters.

Student and DogGO member, Mallory Anderson, was very proud of the recognition.

"It's truly an honor for our firm DogGo to be featured in Long Island Press paper, we are all extremely grateful for this experience,” Anderson said. “For us as a company our goal for the LIU Tradeshow was to show how much DogGo means to us and touch those dog owners hearts. We fulfilled our goal, got our firm's name around, grew as a company, made some great connections with other firms, and overall had an amazing time. It was great seeing all the other firms and what ideas they had as well. VE is such an amazing experience into the real world and for developing those skills for future entrepreneurs."

DogGO advanced into the top 40 for their business plan presentation, and took home a silver award for their website design.

The Virtual Enterprise program is offered by the School of Business in the CTE Department under the guidance of Career and Technical Education Director, Christine LoFrese, and facilitated by Stephen Costello, Patrick Rosa, and Stefanie Torlentino.
