BUILDING BLOCKS: Middle School robotics teams come together

February 23, 2024

The Smithtown Middle School First Lego League Robotics teams had successful competitions at Mineola High School and William Floyd High School. Each middle school has two LEGO Robotics teams.  The teams are part of the CTE Technology Department program supported by Christine LoFrese, CTE Director and Building Principals, Mr. McNeill(AMS), Mr. Scomillio(GHMS) and Mr. McCabe(NMS).

The teams consist of students who are passionate about robotics and enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex challenges. They learn valuable skills in coding, problem-solving, and have the opportunity to compete against other teams from Long Island. Technology educators coach the teams and provide guidance and support throughout the season. The robotics team has a proud tradition of excellence and consistently participates in competitions.
