For the 21st consecutive year, students in Diane Lanze's fifth grade class at Mills Pond Elementary School participated in an "American Idol" essay contest.
The students were tasked with writing about their idols whom they have personally known (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.).
The winner was Juliana Labropoulos who wrote about her father.
