We encourage ALL students to be in school ALL day. Their education is important. Coming and going during class time is disruptive not only to the student in transit but also to the other students in the classroom. However, we understand that not all appointments can be transacted outside of the school day.

You may send necessary emails to the Attendance Office with notification of a student’s illness, college visit or other excused reason to explain why the student will not be in school. Once the email is received, the attendance can be recorded and thus eliminate the automated phone call that day. This email will be printed and filed. Therefore, a follow-up written note is not necessary.

If a student is being picked up early, please send them to school with a note including date, time to be picked up, reason for pickup, and name of person picking up your student. This person MUST be listed on the emergency contact list and ID will be verified before student is released. Student will be given a pass to leave class at the specified time for pickup. However, please make every effort for students to be picked up in between classes, not during class time. Please try to avoid picking up a student without prior notification as we try not to interrupt class time with phone calls into the room.

Juniors and Seniors have privileges to sign themselves out with parental permission when necessary. Please email the attendance office with the date, time, and reason that your student will be signing out. Handwritten notes will be verbally verified via phone call. Please make every effort for students to sign out in between classes, not during class. Student will be given a pass upon signing out to show Security in the parking lot. Security will not allow students to leave without a pass from the Attendance Office.

Students who arrive late to school must sign-in at the Attendance Office. Please send student with a note explaining the reason he/she is arriving late. Student will then be given an excused or unexcused pass to show classroom teacher. Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. Students who arrive late to school “unexcused” three times or more may receive lunch detention.
