Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education
Pupil Personnel Services
The Smithtown Central School District is committed to creating a learning environment that supports and promotes the academic, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of all its students. The Pupil Personnel Services Department utilizes a variety of supports to identify and address the needs of our students. By using these supports, it enables our district to proactively provide universal interventions for all students and to customize additional interventions as necessary that address academic and behavioral challenges for our students from Pre-K through their secondary years.
A crucial component of our student support structure includes servicing our students through various special education approaches, which allow for a range of learning styles. Our staff works alongside our students to achieve success, build confidence and foster independence in our scholars throughout their academic career by providing high-quality instruction in a flexible and caring environment.
