NEW H.S. BIOLOGY CLASS

Students at High School East and High School West are participating in a new biology Medical Interventions class under Project Lead The Way.
In this course, students explore concepts of biology and medicine as they take on roles of different medical professionals to solve real-world problems.
The students are currently investigating an outbreak at a college and first ran a PCR on the first student to come to the college doctor and found out she has meningitis.

In the lab they are running an ELISA test to see if the other students are also sick from the same pathogen and to what concentration they have the pathogen.

Both tests have been used over the past few years for Covid.  The classes are led by Dr. Christian at HSE and Ms. Marron at HSW.
