Nearly forty teachers have begun a three-day orientation in the Smithtown Central School District.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur welcomed the new educators and stressed the importance of student engagement.
Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Neil Katz spoke to the teachers about professional responsibilities and potential frontline professional growth.
For the next three days the teachers will go over the curriculum, special education services, athletics, technology, strength and wellness, and meet with principals and assistant principals.
The program is hosted by Dr. Kristen Andriaccio, Director of Professional Learning and Student Intervention Services.
