358 students have just graduated from Smithtown High School West!

Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur addressed the students, stressed the importance of family, and quoted philosopher Henry David Thoreau when he said "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined."

National Honor Society President Tyler Nagosky was chosen by his classmates to speak, along with class Co-Presidents Hunter Hayes and Madison Hilman.

Tyler stressed the importance of family and complimented the class on how much they had overcome.

Madison added “If you’re heading toward something that is important to you or participating in something that you're passionate about it will all be worth it."

High School West principal John Coady told the students they've "gone above and beyond to help others during this pandemic and we are so proud of you."

After the congratulatory speeches, Mr. Coady presented the senior class to the community, prior to the awarding of the diplomas by the board of education and school counselors. The seniors then participated in the traditional moving of the tassels to indicate their becoming alumni of the Smithtown Central School District.The concert choir seniors and jazz choir then performed “The Sweetest Days,” prior to the students exiting the field to take photos with parents and friends.
