Students from HS East's Digital Media Arts and Studio in Art classes had artwork selected to hang in Excel Urgent Care in Nesconset. The theme was health and wellness, and an art reception was held on May 21st for the artists who were able attend with their families.
Art teacher Dianne Shanian said "When an opportunity arises to display the artwork my talented students create outside the walls of our high school, I like to advocate for them and make it happen. This chance was special because the art will help to uplift the people who visit the urgent care center who are sick or injured."
The Practice Development Manager of Excel Urgent Care, Mr. Greg Varro, presented this opportunity by offering students the chance to display their art in the lobby, hallways and waiting rooms of his facility. "I like to have the youth from our community involved in making this a better place." said Varro.
Mr. Varro added he would like to have other student's artwork displayed at
Excel Urgent Care on a rotating basis.
