Great Hollow Middle School eighth graders are using their engineering skills to build mechanical devices.
In Caitlin Caputo’s automation and robotics class, students working in pairs on Monday finetuned their robotic devices while applying previous lessons about mechanisms and gear ratios.
The finished projects, all of which included motors and brains, ranged from an ATV, to a wind turbine, to a pull toy.
All of the devices required students to devise a mechanical object and automate it.
