High School West has landed on Newsweek’s 2016 listing of the best public high schools in America. The high school ranked No. 231 on the list.

Newsweek examined six measurements and weighted them to formulate a college readiness index. These factors included: holding power; ratio of counselor/full-time equivalent to student enrollment; weighted SAT/ACT; weighted AP/IB/dual enrollment composite; graduation rate; and college enrollment rate.

In all, 6,477 of the nation’s 15,819 public high schools met the criteria to be considered in Newsweek’s rankings. High School West is one of just 56 schools in New York State to make the list.
