Accompsett Elementary School third graders learned about folk stories from around the world and even got to participate as actors on Wednesday morning.

Actor and singer Lou Del Bianco visited the school and used songs and animated storytelling to share folk stories from various countries, including Japan and Ghana.

Each folk story had a moral, such as avoiding greed or being content with what you have.

Students played roles including farm animals.

Del Bianco also told the fable, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” while offering a lesson about right and wrong.

Students learned that people create folk tales, which are then told by people “over and over and over again,” and that people learn about the world and themselves by hearing them.
