Eighty-four students from East and West DECA competed in the New York DECA State Competition during the last weekend in February in Rochester. East and West received 85 medals and trophies, and 18 students qualified to attend the International Career Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, where they will compete against all the top winners from across the globe.
There were more than 2,600 students from across the state competing. The competitions included business topics such as marketing, finance, public relations, accounting and entrepreneurship. Students competed in either tests and role plays or written manuals and presentations. The 18 students who won trophies will compete in Nashville at the end of April against the top winners from across the globe.
In addition, High School East was awarded chapter recognition for community service and global entrepreneurship, and High School West was recognized for community service and promotional campaign.
