St. James Elementary School radiated with messages of positivity during the schoolwide Kindness Week in February.
Each day, students dressed up to show their commitment to kindness with a pajama day, crazy hair day and sports attire day. The students made kindness trees that featured different ways they could be kind toward their classmates, families, community members or themselves. The trees was constructed out of every students’ handprints in different colors to represent each grade level.
To show kindness to their community, the school collected items for the local animal shelter and the nursing home and rehabilitation center in Saint James. During the Kindness Night celebration, students created Valentine’s Day cards for the residents of the rehabilitation center.
