Eighth graders at Accompsett Middle School were hard at working selling their business plans during the food truck festival.

As part of their family and consumer sciences class with Ms. Taylor Walsh, the students had to create their own ideas for a food truck. Each student then had to write a 30-second elevator pitch to get their fellow students to invest in their ideas. Students talked about their menu, plan for growth and how they would work to attract customers and cater to their specific market.

The lesson gave students the opportunity to work on their public speaking and communication skills while also sparking their creativity. The students even sampled some of the food truck items before casting their vote on the best food truck idea.
