Geo Bee Semifinalist
Patrick Slattery, a seventh-grader at Accompsett Middle School, has been named a semifinalist in the National Geographic State Bee and will participate in the 2017 competition at the New York State Museum in Albany on March 31.

After winning the school level of the competition, Slattery took a qualifying test to determine his eligibility as a state semifinalist. One hundred of the top-scoring students in each of the 50 states will compete in their respective state bees.

Each state champion will receive $100, the National Geographic Concise Atlas of the World, 4th Edition and a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent their state in the National Geographic Bee Championship at National Geographic Society headquarters from May 14-17.
