Favorite Picks Pop at Corn Tasting

What’s a second-graders favorite type of corn? The students at Branch Brook put their palates to the test as they participated in a corn tasting on Nov. 21.

After completing their social studies lesson on Native American culture and learning about how they farmed corn, the students had a chance to taste different forms on corn to choose their favorites. Corn chips, popcorn, cornbread, corn flakes, corn stuffing and even candy corn were all part of the feast. After trying different items, students graphed which type of corn was their favorite.

Teachers gathered the class together to read a book about Thanksgiving and talk about what they are thankful for this holiday season.
