On Nov. 16, the district hosted an evening program, “Welcome Freshmen/Transition to High School,” for ninth-grade students and their parents. Ingrid Hrvatin, administrator for guidance and related student services, and Christine Donofrio, administrative assistant, presented an overview of graduation requirements, grading policy, Wilson Tech, NCAA, college testing and the importance of joining clubs/community service.

Mary Pat Grafstein, work experience and internship coordinator, accompanied by Denise Massimo, business teacher, offered valuable information regarding internships and work experience opportunities available through the Career Center.

To close the evening, students participated in the GPA Game to highlight additional criteria that can be used for college admissions (i.e. rigorous coursework, resume, volunteer and community service, etc.). The PowerPoint presented can be found on the district website under Guidance Department documents.
