Colonial Tradesman at Work in Smithtown

As part of a history lesson, fourth-graders at Smithtown Elementary participated in a Colonial Day. Each student selected a trade to research and designed a poster including a help wanted ad, interview questions, vocabulary words, and other important facts about their designated trade.

Students dressed the part for their Colonial trade, and they incorporated many trade specific vocabulary terms within their project board to be displayed as well. Some students included props to share the actual tools and techniques utilized by each individual trade.
