Toothpaste Lesson Delivers Anti-Bullying Message

Fourth-grade students at Smithtown Elementary took part in an English Language Arts Academy on anti-bullying and learning the importance of always treating others with kind words and respect.

After reading the book “The Hundred Dresses,” teachers gave the students toothpaste to illustrate the book’s lessons. The students enjoyed squeezing and churning the toothpaste out of the tube but they soon discovered that it was nearly impossible to put it back. The lesson showed the power of the spoken word and how hurtful words can never be taken back.
