Mrs. Rouse’s eighth grade Italian classes at Great Hollow celebrated the culmination of the food unit with a dinner celebration on Nov. 5. The evening began with the singing of the Italian National Anthem by all of Mrs. Rouse's Italian students. It was followed by a series of vocal and musical performances along with a restaurant skit. These performances were conducted by student volunteers who wished to showcase not only their linguistic talents like in the dialog skit, but also their vocal and instrumental talents by performing musical pieces by such Italian artists as Vivaldi, Rossini, and Verdi. Other students hosted an Italian Bingo game called Tombola, calling numbers from one to 100 in Italian and in English to obtain a winner for the grand prize giveaway.

The evening culminated with a delicious Italian dinner with all the trimmings supplied by parents and families. Fun was had by all and many memories were preserved through the help of the students who took great pictures at the "Italian Photobooth."
