Eighth grade students in Mr. Dennis’ automation and robotics class at Nesaquake Middle School are learning algorithms by constructing Legos. Using 10 Legos, each student constructed a three-dimensional design. The students then wrote down the detailed steps necessary to make the design. The students were then partnered up and each had to construct each other’s design using only the written directions. The goal was to teach the students how to write algorithms as an introduction to their coding unit.
